When Valerie first stepped on the yoga mat 12 years ago, she expected to see improvements in her physical body. She quickly discovered that her practice was beyond what the eye could see. By connecting breath to movement, she was able to find emotional release and alleviate anxiety. Finding healing in both body and mind, she was inspired to share this knowledge with others and to become a certified yoga teacher. In 2018, Valerie studied with Modo Yoga (formerly known as Moksha Yoga) and completed 500 hours of teacher training. She later completed Hands On Restorative Training Certification with The Feelosophy in the Fall of 2019.
Influenced by a variety of lineages and movement styles, Valerie blends the foundational principles of Hatha yoga with the fluidity and freedom of Vinyasa flow. In guiding stillness and meditation, she honours the connection of physical practice to the spiritual world. With a call to inspire mobility and healing for all, Valerie has led classes for athletes, children, youth, families and communities experiencing homelessness.
By teaching with intention, Valerie creates accessible practices for all bodies, encourages mindfulness and connection through movement.
