— YOGA TEAM —

Tanja is a Certified Yoga Instructor and Owner of Bliss Yoga Anywhere (online Yoga platform), as well as a Reiki Healer. Her teaching began in Costa Rica where her love and desire to help and heal others became a reality. On a journey of healing herself after a pelvic and lower back injury (as well as emotionally and mentally), she truly discovered the healing powers of yoga; meditation, movement as medicine, awareness of breath and oneself. She now shares her light and wisdom with others through fulfilling and meaningful work; practicing and teaching yoga, she has created a life she dreamed of. She strives for excellence in all she does and is always learning and growing through her practice.
Her classes flow seamlessly from pose to pose, allowing students to ease into the union of breath and body. Each practice is filled with thoughtful playlists of music and alignment cues to keep joints and muscles happy.
With a passion and focus on hatha, flow and restorative yoga, her light shines brightest and love flows endlessly. Her philosophy is to simply love yourself.

When Valerie first stepped on the yoga mat 12 years ago, she expected to see improvements in her physical body. She quickly discovered that her practice was beyond what the eye could see. By connecting breath to movement, she was able to find emotional release and alleviate anxiety. Finding healing in both body and mind, she was inspired to share this knowledge with others and to become a certified yoga teacher. In 2018, Valerie studied with Modo Yoga (formerly known as Moksha Yoga) and completed 500 hours of teacher training. She later completed Hands On Restorative Training Certification with The Feelosophy in the Fall of 2019.
Influenced by a variety of lineages and movement styles, Valerie blends the foundational principles of Hatha yoga with the fluidity and freedom of Vinyasa flow. In guiding stillness and meditation, she honours the connection of physical practice to the spiritual world. With a call to inspire mobility and healing for all, Valerie has led classes for athletes, children, youth, families and communities experiencing homelessness.
By teaching with intention, Valerie creates accessible practices for all bodies, encourages mindfulness and connection through movement.
